Tonight I have been setting up my new 'living'
space down here in the small 4 metre by 4 metre subterranean, catacomb, burial
chamber, iron tomb room that I found beneath the stone memorial above last
night whilst I was sweeping the floor. For this is the catacomb burial chamber
of a girl who died at the age of sixteen years old - and her coffin is on a
display platform against one of the walls down here - but I have no desire to
open her coffin and look inside out of both fear because I am now going to
'live' down here - and also out of respect for the dead girl. And so I have set
up my sleeping bag against the other side of the wall and placed the rest of my
belongings down here - For now I will be definitely hidden from the elements -
especially the cold and rain of Melbourne's increasingly harsher autumn weather
- and also I will definitely be hidden and protected from ever being discovered
by the security patrols whilst I am hiding out and living here at Melbourne
Cemetery. And even though I am now 'living' underground down here in this small
4 metre by 4 metre cemetery catacomb tomb room with a coffin that has a sixteen
year old dead girl in it against the wall opposite me - I now feel very
comfortable, warm and protected from the world above which has caused me so
much hurt and anger in my life.
