Tonight when Alice and I got back here to the
cemetery from getting our nightly meal from the church charity food at the
city's industrial market warehouse carpark - we then searched the cemetery to
try and locate another underground, subterranean, catacomb chamber room beneath
another grave memorial so that Alice can live in it - however we had no luck
tonight - but we are obviously going to continue searching the cemetery each
night for a catacomb chamber room for Alice to live in - and so now I am back
down here in my catacomb chamber room whilst Alice is again sleeping upstairs
for the day in this grave memorial with my hunting knife for protection and a life-size
stone statue of one of the discarded cemetery female angels pushed over the top
of the hatch which is the only access point to my catacomb chamber room down
here and which Alice does every night now for her own peace of mind and which I
accept and understand her desire to do so - And tonight before we went to our
beds in our separate respective places - Alice let me ask her some questions
that I wanted to know about her five years as a street prostitute in the
red-light district of the inner city Melbourne suburb of St Kilda - And firstly
Alice told me that she personally is not a nymphomaniac like some prostitutes -
and nor does she just want to exploit and use males for money both because she
wanted money and also out of some hatred and/or contempt towards males that
some other types of prostitutes have for whatever reason or reasons - for when
it comes to sex Alice said that she enjoys it - however she is not overly
fascinated or obsessed with sex - and in reality the only reason that she
became a a prostitute is because she was addicted to heroin - and because of
the rapid tolerance building aspect that heroin has - Alice could nowhere near
financially support her heroin addiction through her counter sales position in
the conservative corporate city cafe where she worked the early evening shift
each week night - and so because she was initially introduced to heroin by a
street pimp and drug dealer in the red-light district of St Kilda where she
lived - as Alice's heroin addiction tolerance rapidly increased - and stoned
within the apathetic careless courage of heroin - and fearing the terrible
daily pain of heroin withdrawal - Alice eventually became a street prostitute
in order to support her heroin habit and her ever increasing tolerance to heroin
- which towards the end of her five year heroin addiction - Alice had a two
gram a day heroin addiction - which at the time was approximately $1000 worth
of high-quality heroin a day - which may sound like a lot to some people - and
would also almost certainly kill someone from an overdose if they started out
using that much heroin in one day if they were not a long term heroin addict -
however heroin has a rapid tolerance building rate to it - and so where Alice
originally started out smoking a $50 street cap of heroin over a two day period
- as her tolerance to the heroin continually and fairly rapidly increased - by
the end of her five year addiction to heroin Alice was using and addicted to
$1000 of high-quality heroin a day - which her tolerance was also by then well
and truly use to - and so even using a $1000 gram of high-quality heroin a day
- towards the end of her five year heroin addiction - Alice was still hanging
out for more heroin by then each day as her tolerance was forever increasing -
and which Alice had been supporting her ever increasing heroin addiction by
working in the illegal realm of street prostitution in the red-light district
of St Kilda - and where after her evening shift in her counter sales position
in the conservative corporate cafe in the city - where Alice use to go to work
stoned on heroin each night to block out all the psychological abuse from all
the conservative corporate bastards and bitches that she served in her customer
service job there - Alice would then catch a tram back to the red-light
district of the inner city suburb of St Kilda where she was living - and then
bring back from the street to her room in the rundown rooming house in that
red-light district of St Kilda - on average ten men each night who she prostituted
herself to at her personal street prostitution prices back then of $100 for a
one hour sex session - which is what most of her male clients - who many were
often nightly regulars wanted from her - And when I asked Alice what it was
like for her being a prostitute and sleeping with men just for money - Alice
told me that she was always so stoned on heroin that she emotionally, mentally
and physically felt nothing during her sex sessions with her clients - as Alice
said that her sex as a prostitute was just rote sex like the sex people have
when they have been in a coupling relationship for too long and where the
passion has long gone and they should break up but they only stay together
because they are stuck in some dull, dreary comfort zone - and in terms of the
morality of being a prostitute and selling her body for money by having sex
with males - Alice just stated that people sell their bodies all the time in
their jobs in other ways anyway - and so for Alice prostitution was the easiest
way for her to make enough money each night to support her ever increasing
expensive heroin habit - and so that is why she was a prostitute - And so when
I asked Alice what eventually made her decide to make the difficult effort of
withdrawing off heroin and quitting her street prostitution - Alice told me
that there were three reasons - the first was that her tolerance to heroin -
especially the high-quality heroin that she was using and addicted to was very
high and expensive - and in the competitive sector of black market street
prostitution in the red-light district of Melbourne where she worked - she
found it difficult to find more than eight to ten customers a night to sleep
with to support her ever increasing heroin addiction - and the second reason
was that she had not done any of her artwork since becoming a heroin addict as
she was either too busy or too apathetic from being stoned on heroin to be
bothered to do her artwork - and this was an important reason for Alice to
eventually quit her heroin addiction - especially since Alice had seen the full
destructive nature of heroin use and heroin addiction when she was living in
the then bohemian inner-city suburb of Fitzroy of Melbourne when she lived and
worked in Fitzroy back then and spent a lot of time working on her artwork -
and the only drug that she use to use during that period was the party drug
ecstasy - which she eventually stopped using the drug ecstasy because like a
lot of people who use ecstasy frequently - the come-downs off the ecstasy got
worse and worse each time she used it and caused her increasing bouts of
temporary anxiety also whenever she was coming down off of the ecstasy - and so
Alice eventually stopped using the drug ecstasy whilst she was still living in
Fitzroy in her bohemian days - However Alice said that during that period -
especially during the last few years of the mid-late 1990's - there was a
massive amount of heroin use and addiction in this city of Melbourne - and many
people died during that period with an average of more than 300 people each
year dying in this city of Melbourne from heroin overdoses - and Alice said
that she watched so many people - especially bohemian people from what is
termed generation x - get addicted to heroin and stop doing their artwork
because of their heroin addiction - and also often die from their heroin use
and/or heroin addiction - and in that context Alice said that it was so sad to
watch that happen all around her - as she had to watch a great majority of
artistic, bohemian people from her generation x become apathetic and/or die
because of their heroin use and/or heroin addiction - and Alice said that she
understands why so many artistic, bohemian people turned to heroin use and/or
heroin addiction - because there is so much anxiety involved in both being a
struggling artist and also an outsider in society - and unfortunately heroin
blocks out that anxiety from being an artistic outsider in society - And then
the final reason that Alice said that she stopped using heroin was because of
the overwhelming irony in that the majority of her male customers that she
prostituted herself to for money to support her heroin addiction - and which
many were nightly regular sex customers to her - were also the same type of
suburban, married, conservative corporate bastards that she served in her
evening job in her counter sales position in the conservative corporate cafe
where she also worked - and who were also usually married to the same kind of
abusive conservative corporate bitches who she also had to serve each evening
in that conservative corporate cafe in the city where she worked - and both
those types of conservative corporate bastards and bitches had constantly
psychologically abused her in that conservative corporate cafe job and caused
her initial anxiety and her consequent heroin addiction in the first place.
